Create your own Website
Some of our members have requested their own page. A fantastic idea! Or what about creating a website for your school group?
See below for how to do it and it doesn’t cost a cent.
When you’ve created your website, let us know the URL and we’ll add a link to your page from our members’ pages page (coming soon).
How to Create Your Own Website
Go to Eric Brown’s website Build your own Website. His website gives all the information you need to create your own website, including nine 5 minute video tutorials. You can also request an instant copy of his report, “Your DIY Website Action Guide”. All he asks is that you share the website with someone, to get the word out about this fabulous resource. Eric's site directs you to Weebly, a website design site. Weebly will host your newly created website for free, so it doesn’t have to cost a thing to have a website!
I know that many of you will be better than me with computer stuff, but even if you’re not a techy-person, the Weebly programme is really easy to use. One of the things I really like about it is that you can choose from dozens of different designs, so you can get creative. Then all you do is drag elements on to the page, such as a paragraph with a picture; add your content and click publish. Voila! You can create yourself a website in just 20 minutes! So what are you waiting for?
Ideas for what to put on your website
- A bit about you; you could include why you care about animals, and if you are vegetarian or vegan, what was your main reason for making that change.
- You can add photos of your animal companions, if you have any.
- An action page, encouraging people to help with the campaigns that are important to you.
- A list of links to your favourite animal-friendly websites.
- You could start your own blog about whatever you like, which other members can leave their comments on.
- If you’d like other members to get in touch with you, you could put a contact form on your website.
